Helpaholics has the subtitle "help / rescue & codependentie’. Codependents tend to derive their self-worth from the help they provide to others. In the Netherlands no less than approx. 6 million people volunteer counselors and many do so to make them feel good.
It is noble and beautiful to help others when asked, but less beautiful if we depend on it for our feelings of self-worth, it is about helping / giving from abundance, because you have so much to give, so much love in you that it, as it were, overflows to the other
I have noticed that many counselors have codependent traits, codependents are particularly attracted to service professions in order to feel good(and often superior too, 75% of care providers feel superior, which is pathological and an overcompensation of feelings of inferiority)
